PLAN YOUR REQUEST
Start with the locations for each part of the job
Write down the collection address, chosen storage facility and eventual delivery address separately. They may be in different parts of London. Add the postcodes and facility name where known. If the return address is not ready, say so. Optional postcode suggestions on UK forms help with the area, but you can edit the suggestion or enter it yourself.
The entrances matter as much as the route
A nearby unit is not always the easiest one to reach. At your home and storage facility, check the entrance, floors, lifts and distance from the loading place. Tell us about a basement, narrow doorway or furniture that may need taking apart. For a flat or apartment, ask the building contact whether a lift or delivery slot must be booked.
Confirm where the vehicle can load
Ask the building or facility contact where a vehicle may stop and at what times. Where street parking is involved, check the relevant council's requirements and agree who will arrange any permission needed for the job. Share fixed loading slots with us before booking. A postcode suggestion or short journey does not confirm a legal loading place.
Agree access with your chosen storage provider
Check when the facility accepts vehicles, who can open the unit and how collection is authorised. If moving between facilities, confirm access at both and that the new space is ready. You do not need to change provider to ask OneMove for transport. The storage agreement and the removal booking each need clear terms and contacts.
Keep an overseas move on the international request
For belongings going abroad from London, use the international form and include any storage before shipment in the description. Collection, storage and overseas delivery may have different dates and requirements. For a UK destination outside London, explain the full route so the team can review it. This site's current service focus remains London.
Choose the form for the belongings' journey
Use the storage form for a move into a unit, collection from one, a transfer between units or a request for space. Use domestic removals for a direct house move without storage. Use international removals when the belongings themselves are going abroad. If you are unsure, contact us with a short description of the job.
Check the plan before confirming a date
Put the collection deadline, facility opening hours, loading slot and receiving contact's availability beside each other. They may not match. Tell us which times are fixed and which can change. Use the downloadable checklist to keep missing details visible and bring the collection, storage and return arrangements together before you agree the booking.
Keep the collection, storage and return details together
Use this checklist before enquiring. It separates the locations, dates and access for each part of the job, with space to note anything still unknown. You can download it without giving us your contact details.
Download the London moving and storage checklist
Check the storage space and unit access with the provider. Agree the transport, item list and dates with OneMove. Ask the building contact or relevant council about any loading permission needed, then confirm who will arrange it.
An example enquiry
A London unit is delivering furniture to a flat across the city. Include both postcodes, the facility's collection slot, the flat's floor and vehicle access. Mention any deadline affecting arrival rather than relying on a distance estimate alone.
Use this example as a guide to the details you can include in your own request.
