Student removals and storage in London

Leaving your London room before the next tenancy starts? Tell us what you need collected and when you must hand back the keys. We can take belongings to your chosen storage unit and collect them again when your accommodation is ready. If you have not chosen storage or do not know the return date, explain that in your request.

YOUR JOURNEY

What needs to happen?
  1. London accommodation
  2. Storage
  3. Back for the next term

PLAN YOUR REQUEST

A few boxes or a furnished room

Tell us what you are taking out of your room, including boxes, suitcases, a desk, chair or other furniture. A student move does not need to fill a whole house to be worth asking about. Give an honest estimate of the items so we can discuss the transport and, if needed, storage space.

Summer storage and gaps between tenancies

Start with the checkout deadline and your likely return date. Check the storage period, access and charges before booking space. Your collection and return delivery may be separate bookings, so ask what each costs. If term dates or a new tenancy are still uncertain, say which details are missing rather than choosing dates you cannot yet confirm.

Collection from halls or a student apartment

Check the accommodation's moving rules before choosing a time. Reception may need notice, a vehicle may need loading permission or a lift may have to be booked. Tell us your floor and how the crew will reach the room. Have someone available to open the accommodation and identify the belongings being collected.

Delivery back for the next term

You can request a return journey from storage to university accommodation or another address. Add the date and postcode if known. If not, tell us you need a return trip and provide those details when they are confirmed. A return collection needs its own agreed access and delivery arrangements.

If you are an international student

If you are only going abroad for a break and leaving your belongings in London, use the storage form. If the belongings themselves are moving overseas, use the international removals form and describe any storage period first. Keeping those two situations clear helps us review the right request.

Keeping the request within your budget

Make a list of the items you really need moved and say whether the collection date is flexible. Ask for the collection, storage period and return delivery costs to be clear. Check whether packing or other help is included if you need it. A student request does not automatically include a discount, so use the written quotation when planning your budget.

Shared accommodation and keeping belongings identifiable

If several people are leaving together, label your own boxes and list the items on your request. Tell us if you want to enquire about a combined collection rather than assuming separate requests will be grouped. Keep belongings that are not part of the move apart from the packed items. Check who will be present at checkout and who can receive the later delivery if you are away.

An example enquiry

Your tenancy ends before the next one starts. You have eight boxes, two suitcases and a desk. Add the collection postcode and checkout date, ask for storage advice if needed, and say that the new address and return date are still unknown.

Use this example as a guide to the details you can include in your own request.

Select Student and choose the storage journey you need. If a return delivery is planned, add what you know about the next accommodation. For belongings going overseas, use the international form.
